Top Coaching | Best Showcases | College Guidance | Team Culture

If you aspire to play on a Tier 1 U19 team in 2019-20, you are invited to try out for the Islanders Women's Hockey Club.  Our program aims to provide a unique experience for talented women's hockey players who want to be part of a competitive program that aims to do big things this winter.

Exceptional Coaching Staff

Stephanie Wood, Head Coach, former D1 player at Northeastern and Director of IHC. Wood has emerged as a leader in female hockey across New England, helping hundreds of players reach NCAA teams, Prep Schools, & National Camps.

Johanna Boynton, Assistant Coach, former D1 player at Harvard and highly experienced coach at Tabor, Middlesex, St. George's, and Groton where she also ran the college office.  She brings a wealth of college advising experience to the program which will serve our student-athletes tremendously.

Outstanding Lineup of Showcases

Participate in the most exclusive, highly rated events in girls' hockey.  The 2019 Tier 1 team will participate in the North American Premier Showcase (June 13-16), Women's Beantown Classic (July 26-28), NAHA Labor Day Tournament (August 29-September 1) and the Crimson Showcase (October – tentative).  We will play a split season schedule in the competitive Tier 1 New England Girls' Hockey League culminating in the MA State Hockey Tournament and, if we succeed, the US Nationals.

Plenty of Summer Skating

Winning doesn't happen without commitment and preparation.  This summer, we will offer two sessions each week (one 90-minute practice and one scrimmage).  All players are required to participate in a minimum of one session per week and there may be more practices as we prepare for NAHA.

College Bound Athlete Support

We will offer personalized guidance to those players who seek to play college hockey, including understanding how to navigate the recruiting process, identifying schools that are a good fit, reaching out to college coaches, and evaluating options as they materialize.  Our college placement rate for Tier 1 U19 players is north of 90%.

Commitment to Personal Development – and Fun!

We love hockey and our goal is to help our players become the best they can be.  The best players, the best leaders, the best people.  There will be a strong emphasis on commitment, chemistry, and character.  Your hockey experience should be fun and, with the right coaching and teammates, you will have the chance to achieve your full potential.
